Like The Moon
He dreams of the moon every night.
Her beauty  wrapped in light, casting shadows on the lonely dreamers forced to live in the world below
A privilege , he thinks, to dream.
What joy it is to gaze upon a beauty so distant
and so pure
Her light shines so simply.
Unspoiled by the ignorance of the space between them
Uncorrected by the wonders of the universe he yearns  for
She offers him a foolish escape in her embrace.
A longing to be anywhere but beside himself
waiting for the day to come
and the sun to take him far away.
After tonight, he dreams of her no more.
He is happy.
The sun will soon come to take him away for good.
sinking him deep into the ocean  with a smile, as he had finally seen the moon.

He sank deep into the ocean  with a smile, as he had finally seen the moon
Her beauty wrapped in light and casting shadows
